In the inaugural Battle of Florida, two national championship-winning coaches come out of retirement for an evening to lead prospective professional players once more on the gridiron as they look to make a lasting impression to NFL scouts.
Florida State University’s very own beloved Bobby Bowden, who coached the Seminoles from 1976 until his retirement after the 2009 season, squares off against one-time rival Howard Schnellenberger at Florida Atlantic University’s new football stadium. Schnellenberger led Miami to its first national title in 1983 before leading Louisville, Oklahoma and finally FAU.
This game will be a showcase for those who have either been born in Florida or played high school or college football in the state.
Schnellenberger will coach the south team, while Bowden will coach the north team. Their assistants will be comprised of current and former NFL and collegiate coaches. Rosters have not yet been announced. Tickets range from $12.50 to $50 and can be purchased by following the link below.
